You got invited to a party. The text said "just bring yourself!" They don't mean it. Showing up with a contribution is basic Calgary courtesy. Here's what to bring based on the situation.
A 6-pack of something decent: craft beer, import, or a 6-pack of the host's known favourite. Or a bottle of wine in the $15–20 range. Either way, you're golden.
A 12-pack of beer or a bottle of mid-range spirits (a $30 bottle of rye or vodka). Nobody expects premium at a house party, but bringing something shows you're not freeloading.
A good bottle of wine ($18–30 range). Ask the host what they're cooking and match accordingly, or bring a safe crowd-pleaser: a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc for summer, an Argentinian Malbec for winter.
A 12-pack of beer. Maybe a bag of ice if you want bonus points. BBQs run on beer and you can never have too much.
Call (825) 450-3030 and we'll deliver something to your door before you leave, or even directly to the party address if the host is cool with it.
