The Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission (AGLC) regulates all alcohol sales and delivery in the province. Any business delivering alcohol must hold a valid AGLC license. This isn't optional — it's the law, and it protects consumers.
The legal drinking age in Alberta is 18. Every delivery requires government-issued photo ID verification at the door. If the customer can't produce valid ID, the driver must refuse delivery. No exceptions, no matter how obvious it seems that someone is of age.
AGLC permits alcohol sales and delivery during licensed hours. For off-premises consumption (delivery), this generally means service can extend to 2 AM, with some flexibility depending on the license type.
